Rainy Day Essentials

I love waking up to a rainy day when I know I can spend a few hours enjoying it indoors and out. Here a few of my favorite things about rainy days:

waking up to everything hugged in mist and raindrops, and seeing just a few lights glowing through windows of other early risers...

sipping spicy, milky chai from an oversized mug...

working on 'kikis first year' or other watercolor projects...

browsing through recipes of ooey-gooey-naughtiness and eating vicariously through the pictures....and sometimes baking them myself if there are enough people around to share the calories with...

watching my sweet spaniel dream the day away, her silky tail curled and her little chest rising and falling peacefully with each breath.

Yes, it's true...Autumn is silently and discreetly washing over the land! How wonderful. I know when I am back from Cape Cod the whole forest will be gilded in gold. I hope you enjoyed this first peek at fall's approach. Every yellowing leaf makes my heart sing!

Humble Plum Crumble

What comes to mind when I think of this crumble? Sticky, sweet, sour, syrupy, crunchy, DELICIOUS. I had to make this twice in a row because my husband and mom kept bugging my for more. And it never lasts longer than a day. You can find the recipe here. Hope you try it out and love it like we do! 

roses and colours to brighten your day

It's one of those days where I don't feel like writing. And strangely enough, a day where I actually have so much to share! A mouth-watering plum crumble, a trip to an Organic Farm Festival, and cheerful pictures from the weekend. But for today, this little photograph will have to do. The colors of the vase, the cup, and the wall are so beautiful, I had to share it.
