"Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability."
-Sam Keen
These days are a strange mix of extreme heat and sudden rain showers. I don't know if you can call it laziness, but I am definitely slow and somewhat lethargic. I could sleep for hours under the ceiling fan while the heat scorches the streets outside. I feel like I am waiting...waiting for these hot days to pass, for my husband to come home, for these final months of pregnancy to come to an end. It's strange, standing on the precipice of such a new chapter in life, but having no control over when it begins.
Dawn, I just wanted you to know that I truly enjoy following your postings! Someone once remarked that waiting is the slowest thing that you can do! How true that is!
ReplyDeleteThe heat seems to really be a factor all over this summer. I much prefer staying inside under a cool ceiling fan, and with the a/c going.:)
I send along good wishes to you as you await the birth of your son!
Thank you so much for these kind words, Nellie!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't call it lazy, I'd call it growing a baby! Your body is working hard. We are supposed to be 100 next week, much hotter than our average temps. The new apartment looks good, I haven't seen many pics of it. And with your deck, it really is a beautiful space. Having usable outdoor space is so wonderful in a home.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend,
Elise
Oh Dawn..your photos are amazing! Love those puppies..smile.. They are so cute... This summers heat seems to be everywhere. Our weather is stiffling hot...and all I do is stay inside with the air conditioning and ceilng fans..smile...
ReplyDeleteI know you will soon have that brand new baby boy and the wait will finally be over!!! And this will all be history...smile...
Blessings...
xoxo Gert
I too love the look into your apartment....maybe you'll give us a little tour someday on your blog?
ReplyDeletewaiting is so hard! I remember when I was pregnant with Noah it was soooo hot in Southern Ontario (+40) with the humidex. All I could do was stay inside and paint. I felt like a captive in my own house. Hang in there, I hope the weather cools down for you soon. xox
We all play the waiting game every now and then, of some sort! I can relate to your trying patience, but soon.....I love how you used white to simplify your new home, it's lovely!
