Breathtaking Autumn Colors

Autumn is the easiest time to take beautiful photographs. The trees and ground are saturated with such a variety of intense colors; russet, gold, chocolate, maroon. Whether the sky is a piercing blue or hazy with thick mist, your photos turn out with great atmosphere. I get desperate in the fall, trying to capture all the glorious foliage before it flies off of the branches. I took 50 pictures on our walk today.

I couldn't stop sighing and smiling this morning. Kiki was trying to catch falling leaves and Boston was scurrying up and down the path with his nose to the ground. Raffi observed everything with his big blue eyes before falling asleep in the carrier. It's a holiday here in Austria today, so I had the joy of my husband's company. I told him: fall and winter are my favorite times of year to take photographs. Fall is full of colorful splendor, and winter is reduced, almost black and white.

I never tire of the four seasons and I think my photographs reflect that. On days where I feel lethargic and uninspired, I need only take my camera with me out into the woods, no matter the weather, and I will always find something beautiful to take a picture of out there. And to share with you.

We stepped out of the blazing red and yellow of the forest and back into the village, shrouded in fog. I looked at the houses tucked into the wooded hillside and felt a bolt of gratitude in my heart. Calling such a beautiful place my home.

Happy November!

  7. I can't even begin to imagine what fall colors look like in person. I've only ever seen them on television and in beautiful photos like these.

Honestly... even the word "beautiful" seems like a weak description of how pretty the fall season can be in certain parts of the world.

  10. Hey Dawn,

Your photos are beautiful. And your village looks so sweet:). What a place to call home. I love the photo of you and Raffi from the previous post:). You're a beautiful mama, with and without make-up:). It's funny, I've actually gotten used to wearing my 'naked' skin. It's not as easy when you have someone else to take care of, but the time with the little ones is more precious than time in front of the mirror anyway:).

Enjoy the end of autumn in your lovely village!
