Hope Springs Eternal

Hope springs eternal in the human breast...

Meet Boston.

Boston is a 5-week-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

He will be joining our family in September, and we are so incredibly excited!

Boston, pictured here being kissed/bitten by a sibling, is a ray of shining hope for us.
The pain of this day, today, my original due date with angel baby Blueberry, has been softened and soothed by the joy and happy anticipation of this sweet little boy.

It's one of those stories where, when you look back, you know it was God giving you a break.

On Saturday, I wanted to send Kiki's breeder a new photograph of her, as I sometimes do, but couldn't seem to find his email address. So I went on his website, and there they were....a new, adorable litter of puppies.
AND JUST ONE LEFT.
Our little Boston!!
(We've named him after the city we fell in love with last autumn.)

Boston....our ray of sunshine!

xoxo country girl

p.s. thank you all, SO MUCH, for your words of comfort and encouragment!!!

  4. You are just going to LOVE having two Cavaliers. Tri-colours are just so gorgeous too. Now you will have two little companions to go scouring through the woods with. Can't wait to see you taking him for his first walk with Kiki.

  6. Dearest Dawn,
How very happy I am to learn of the new little Boston who will be joining your family. He looks like such a sweetie and I think Kiki will dearly love having a new companion as you all frolick through forest, field and stream together.
I have never posted here before, but I have been faithfully following your blog for some time. Please know that I pray for you as you go through the places of shadow and I rejoice with you as the sun shines gloriously upon you.
A while ago, I saw something on another blog and I thought of you. Until now, I have hesitated to share this with you, not knowing if it was the right thing to do, the right time, but I am inspired to do so now.
There is a wonderful woman, Lisa Leonard, who makes the most beautiful, hand-created jewelry. In March, she wrote about a lovely necklace she has created which she dedicates to all the dear, loving mothers whose arms have been left empty. She calls it "marked by love." She also tells the story of the special lady who was her inspiration. If this is something that you would like to learn more about, dear Dawn, please visit lisaleonardonline.com/blog/ and her posting from March 16, 2010.
I wish you and your lovely family all the peace, joy and love in the world.
    Blessings,
    Cheryl

Congratulations!! How strange that I stumbled upon you today. I found you through a Birmingham blog I follow (my city in Alabama), and then I find out we both love our Cavaliers!
Kiki is gorgeous, and all your photos are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your life and allowing people all over the world to feel kindred connections because of shared love.
Hope you are having a sweet season as well.

I'm thrilled to read about Boston coming to join your family. Dogs are such joy-bringers, and they fill a special spot in our hearts. Kiki will have fun showing him the ropes! Know that you are in my thoughts this week, and my prayers. Be gentle with yourself, and remember that many are thinking of you.

  26. Boston is adorable!
I was thinking of you on Monday but there was no internet connection where I was. You'll have your miracle, the same way I had mine!
Got your card today. So sweet! Love it! Maybe we can do it again. I sent five similar little packages and got enormous amounts of happiness by doing this.
