susan branch is twittering!

I was overjoyed when Susan Branch sent out the notice that she is now, finally, on twitter! Her profile is called dearsusanbranch and she has only just begun, but already I'm looking forward to some conversation with one of my favorite people and authors.
She amazes me. Her discipline (gets up at four in the morning to begin painting so she isn't distracted), her jois de vivre, her ability to make you feel all happy inside with just looking at a page in one of her books. If you don't know her work yet, I encourage you to check it out. She'll brighten up your day when you're blue and make you feel like there are still lovely, special, magical moments in the world. I mean, the woman rides the train accross America when she wants to go from California to her gorgeous house on Martha's Vineyard...how cute and vintage is that? Read about her train adventures (and see her sweet pictures of it) here.
When I go to Cape Cod this fall, I'll be keeping an eye out for her house, and ofcourse hoping I'll bump into her...hey, anything is possible!

  3. Oh Dawn! You're making it so hard for me to stay away from twitter! What will I do when work starts in September? I love discovering new places on the web. Have you seen the last one I told you of? Gorgeous.
Hey listen: do I need permission to become someone's follower? I didn't ask you or Joy but we knew each other from Jamie's. By the way, your stir-cake recipe is the first one that's made it to my scrapbook!
